Modern slavery and human trafficking statement
1. Our structure and business
Fortify Clinic Ltd is a UK-based healthcare company that works in partnership with NHS Trusts to deliver high-quality clinical services via an insourcing model. Our core purpose is to help reduce NHS waiting lists by providing additional clinical capacity through experienced healthcare professionals. The company is led by a board of three directors and operates primarily within England.
2. Our policy on modern slavery and human trafficking
Fortify Clinic Ltd has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking do not take place anywhere in our business or supply chains.
Our Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy outlines our commitment to upholding human rights and sets expectations for all staff, contractors, and suppliers. The policy is reviewed annually.
3. Due diligence processes
To identify and mitigate risks related to slavery and human trafficking, Fortify Clinic Ltd undertakes a range of due diligence activities, including:
- Verifying the identity and right to work of all staff and contractors.
- Including modern slavery compliance clauses in contracts where appropriate.
- Requiring supplier declarations confirming adherence to anti-slavery standards.
These processes are reviewed periodically to ensure their effectiveness and relevance.
4. Risk areas and how we manage them
We recognise that some areas of our operations and supply chains carry a greater risk of modern slavery and human trafficking. These include:
- Use of temporary or agency staff via external recruitment agencies though this has, as yet, not been necessary.
To mitigate these risks, we have:
- Strengthened contractor onboarding and contract review processes.
- Introduced regular customer and contractor engagement and compliance reviews.
- Prioritised working with suppliers who demonstrate strong ethical standards.
5. Measuring effectiveness
We assess the effectiveness of our measures to prevent slavery and human trafficking through:
- Monitoring any incidents reported via our whistleblowing or safeguarding channels.
- Conducting internal audits and spot checks on supplier compliance assisted via an automated customer relationship management software.
- Regularly reviewing our procurement and recruitment policies and practices.
To date, we have identified no evidence of modern slavery within Fortify Clinic Ltd or its supply chains.
6. Training and capacity building
Fortify Clinic Ltd is committed to building awareness among staff and ensuring they understand the risks of modern slavery. We provide:
- Induction training for all new permanent staff on recognising and reporting signs of modern slavery.
- Targeted training for permanent staff on due diligence and risk management.
- Refresher training annually and whenever legislation or policies change.
We aim to foster a culture of vigilance, responsibility, and ethical conduct at all levels of the organisation.
